Mastering Rice Noodles: A Culinary Workshop Featuring 2 Iconic Hong Kong Dishes

This is an exciting workshop dedicated to mastering two iconic rice noodle dishes that are beloved staples in Hong Kong cuisine: Singapore Rice Noodles and Ho Fan!

Despite its name, Singapore , known as "Singapore Mei Fun," is not originally from Singapore; it actually traces its roots back to the culinary influences of Hong Kong, where it has been embraced and adapted over the years. This dish is characterized by its thin rice vermicelli stir-fried with a vibrant mix of vegetables, proteins, and a signature curry flavor that gives it a distinctive yellow hue. Singapore Rice Noodles reflect the rich tapestry of flavors and cultures found in Hong Kong, influenced by Chinese, Malay, and Indian cuisines.

In addition to Singapore Rice Noodles, we will also explore another beloved rice noodle dish: Ho Fan. Traditionally made with wide rice noodles and often featuring beef, we will be preparing a vegetarian version that substitutes tofu as the protein choice. This adaptation not only caters to vegetarian diets but also allows the dish to shine with the delightful texture of tofu, absorbing the rich flavors of the accompanying sauces and vegetables.

During this hands-on workshop, you will learn about the history and evolution of both dishes, as well as the techniques to create your own delicious versions.
